Rates

I offer consulting services on a sliding scale that reflects the range of budgets across my client base, and the range in services I offer.

Clients who can pay at the higher end of the scale allow me to subsidize pro bono work. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with individuals and organizations across the spectrum!

With gratitude to AORTA for some of this language and the sliding scale framework

I charge an hourly rate, rather than by project, because accessibility is complex work that varies dramatically, and I always tailor my work specifically to your context - which means it’s hard to say any given type of work will take a specific amount of time.

That said, I know you need to budget, and so do I. When we decide to work together, we will review your project and I will give you an estimate of how many hours I expect it to take, based on the complexity and scope of the work. I’ll work with you throughout the project to help prioritize and stick to the scoped hours.

Here’s an outline of some recent project scopes and hours:

  • Web design audit: consult on new designs for a section of an existing website (about 10 pages), and provide recommendations for accessibility enhancements. Provide limited testing support on page mock-ups.

    • Total time: 18 hours

  • Website audit: audit an existing website (about 20 pages with very simple text content) and provide feedback on accessibility.

    • Total time: 5 hours

  • Disability justice training: provide a 2-hour training on general disability justice principles

    • Total time: 4 hours (2-hour training, 1 hour consultation, 1 hour prep for a training I already had created)

Why hourly?
